A Declaration of War -- The "Palestinian Authority's" UDI [unilateral declaration of independence] Gambit at the UN

Barry Rubin points out that the PA/PLO's gambit of asking the UN --whether the Security Council or General Assembly is secondary-- to approve an Arab state in the Land of Israel without negotiating borders and other issues with Israel could lead to a lot of violence and violates all prior agreements with Israel as well --I would add-- as violating Security Council resolutions 242 & 338 that call for Israel and its Arab neighbors to negotiate the issues between them in order to make peace. I will quote from 242 at the end [338 is just a reconfirmation of 242] so that readers can see that the PLO/PA is violating the Security Council's own resolutions that are supposed to be binding, according to the UN charter.

Bear in mind that if borders are not agreed on with Israel, then the PLO/PA will be declaring a state which will spread over land that rightly belongs to Israel or --in any event-- is claimed by Israel or perhaps their own declaration will be phrased in such a way as to claim all of Israel --all the land from the Jordan to the sea. This is what the PLO did in its 1988 Algiers Declaration --its previous declaration of a state-- by implication. Now, if today's PLO/PA claims any land that Israel also claims and that can be shown to already belong to Israel or is claimed by Israel, then a PLO/PA UDI [unilateral declaration of independence] will essentially be a declaration of war.

One of the amazing things about the amazing incompetence of the Obama Administration is that we’ve become so accustomed to it that we take for granted things that would have made opinion makers during past presidencies clutch the upper left side of their chests and collapse, writhing in agony.

Or to put it another way, if an Obama policy falls in the public arena and the mass media acts deaf will anyone say: “OMG! Can this really be happening?” Well, I will follow Rahm Emanuel’s advice and hope that this serious crisis could be for this administration an “opportunity…to do things you think you could not do before” or to start looking for a new policymaker.

Consider that the United States is on the verge of a foreign policy disaster that could easily have been averted by proper statecraft. The Palestinian Authority (PA, technically speaking, along with its Hamas partner) is about to demand that the United Nations break every Israel-Palestinian agreement over almost twenty years, destroy any possibility of serious future negotiation, reward Palestinian intransigence, and generally make a mess of the Middle East.

The specific issue is recognition of a Palestinian state as existing right now. The result, as I’ve outlined previously, would be catastrophic and don’t let anyone get away with pretending that this isn’t a bad thing or won’t make much difference.

A “normal” U.S. policy would have begun pressing the PA to back down from this strategy almost a year ago, when PA leaders began talking about it. Rather than take quick action—or, indeed, punish, pressure, or even criticize the PA for anything it did—the Obama Administration stood by and made disapproving murmurs from time to time.

We are now facing the consequences of the policy of: let’s be weak so people will like us; leading from behind; not rewarding friends or punishing enemies,; refusing to use U.S. leverage (Turkey votes against sanctions on Iran? Let’s put them in charge of Syria’s future!); and generally letting other countries walk all over the United States. I’d love to list other examples of similar issues here but don’t want to take your time so you can fill in the additional details.

Now, the cloud once the size of a man’s hand has turned into a more serious big brother of Hurricane Irene. If you don’t mind my mixing hurricanes, think of U.S. foreign policy as New Orleans.

A colleague suggests that the administration is now panicked. I think it isn’t panicking but should be. A sign of not understanding the magnitude of the problem is that it is only now starting to do what should have begun around September 2010, not September 2011. If you are a U.S. citizen living in a Muslim-majority country you might think about what you will be doing later this month.

As a result, the United States has no leverage over the PA, a client that depends on Washington for any possibility of actual peace, having a real state, and paying its bills. Equally, it has no leverage over virtually any other country in the world in terms of voting on this issue. America has been transformed from superpower to super-cower, begging the PA to take pity on it and back down from an obviously successful strategy.

I love the way the New York Times’ article puts it:

“The Obama administration has initiated a last-ditch diplomatic campaign to avert a confrontation this month over a plan by Palestinians recognition as a state at the United Nations. It may already be too late, according to senior American officials and foreign diplomats.”

Yes, it might also be too late—just maybe—to stop the American Civil War or prevent the 1929 stock market crash. What the Obama Administration has done is to:

–Propose a new round of PA talks with Israel.

–Made clear that it will veto the PA bid in the Security Council.

This is about the most serious threat since a small mammal (I don’t want to offend anyone by mentioning its precise species) told the Big Bad Wolf not to blow down its house of straw and eat him or he’d bleed all over the Wolf’s clothes.

First, the PA doesn’t want negotiations with Israel. It has been rejecting talks for two years, even refusing them during a requested Israeli freeze of construction on West Bank settlements, even when an east Jerusalem freeze was added to it. The PA also rejected talks within minutes after Obama laid his personal prestige on the line in September 2009 to announce a high-level summit at Camp David.

Let’s face it: these people don’t want serious negotiations. Why? Because they don’t want a peace agreement with Israel; they want a state unfettered by concessions or compromise so they can pursue total victory and Israel’s destruction. (There’s nothing “right-wing” about that conclusion. All the facts point to it and only wishful thinking says differently.)

As for the U.S. vetoing the proposal, what does the PA care about that? It will mainly hurt the United States. There will be a vote in the General Assembly with a margin of support for the PA (cowardly Western democracies which know the idea is terrible will abstain and let the United States take the heat) similar to the size of the majority in the U.S. Congress supporting a declaration endorsing Mother’s Day. Second, there will probably be anti-American riots throughout the Muslim-majority world. Any good done by Obama’s almost three-year-long effort to make Arab and Muslims like him will be cancelled out.

Fortunately, though, Obama doesn’t hold a grudge, at least against foreign enemies who “diss” him and America.

I know that I’ve tried to be entertaining here through the use of sarcasm and humor. But my warning and critique are not exaggerated. This was an avoidable crisis and will be much worse than almost anyone recognizes.

The non-EPA approved icing on the cake is that afterward the Obama Administration will do absolutely nothing to the PA or to affect negatively those who voted for it which will, of course, encourage additional acts of diplomatic hostility and real world disasters of this type. The Obama Administration’s apparent motto is expressed by wearing a large sign that says, “Kick me.” Unfortunately, the object being kicked isn’t the personal property of the chief executive but belongs to the United States of America.

UN Security Council resolution 242 [relevant excerpts]:
The Security Council
. . . .
Affirms that the fulfillment of [UN] Charter principles requires the establishment of a just and lasting peace. . .
Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries, free from threats or acts of force. . . .
Requests the Secretary-General to . . . promote agreement and assist efforts to achieve a peaceful and accepted settlement. . . --end--

Obviously, a declaration of a state that has not obtained the agreement of Israel violates the Security Council's principle of agreement and is not likely to be peaceful and accepted, nor is it likely to lead to a just and lasting peace. In addition, secure. . . boundaries refers to defensible borders. Otherwise, indefensible borders can tempt a belligerent power that wants to land from another state to go to war. Not only do the PLO/PA reject secure boundaries for Israel but by refusing to negotiate boundaries with Israel and by implicitly or explicitly claiming all of the land from the Jordan to the sea, the PLO/PA is rejecting peace with Israel. It is important to note that Obama himself, in his notorious May 19, 2011, speech, also rejected secure boundaries for Israel by demanding that Israel agree to go back to the very insecure 1949 armistice lines [he said "1967 lines"]. Let us bear in mind that those insecure lines tempted Jordan, Egypt and Syria to instigate war on Israel in June 1967. Curiously, Jordan is now warning against a PLO/PA UDI which it believes will be negative for Jordan. Jordan has also stated that it would vote against the UDI in the General Assembly.

Furthermore, whereas Rubin addresses the likely real world outcomes and causes of a PLO/PA UDI, we ought to also mention the injustice that it would represent. Here is an immoral, unjust, murderous entity, speaking in the name of a people that no one had heard of 100 years ago, that now demands a state without negotiating with Israel. Indeed the Arab leadership in the Land of Israel [Arab Higher Committee] had denied the very existence of a country called "palestine" in testimony in 1946 before the Anglo-American Commission of Inquiry on Palestine. And in the name of this entity, invented apparently by psychological warfare/cognitive warfare experts after Israel's reestablishment as a state in 1948, a new state might be recognized in the name of a people that did not exist in history. And this injustice is being perpetrated against the Jews, oppressed, exploited, humiliated and reviled for centuries in both Christendom and Islam.

Lebanese Speak Out against Ahmadinejad & Hizbullah

A group of prominent Lebanese have spoken out against Ahmadinejad, who is now visiting Lebanon as if to signal that he has completed the takeover of the country. Lebanese and people in various Arab states need to realize that Israelophobia was used as a means and/or pretext for building up Hizbullah's power in the state so that it overshadowed all other forces in the country, including the state itself. In many Arab countries Israelophobia and Judeophobia are political tools and pretexts for armed groups and tyrants to control the state and limit the freedom of the population. After Syria, with the help of US secretary of state James Baker, had suppressed the last holdout of Lebanese independence, General Aoun, in 1990, it was agreed at a "peace" conference under pan-Arab auspices [Taif] that all Lebanese militias would be disarmed, except for the Hizbullah. As the AFP article below says, Hizbullah & Syria claimed that the Hizb ought not divest itself of its weapons, "arguing they were needed to defend the country against Israeli aggression." And with those weapons supposedly for use against Israel --and with all other militias disarmed-- Hizbullah helped Syria control the country --occupied by Syria up to 2005.

It also seems that the Hizb helped Syria murder former Lebanese prime minister, Rafiq Hariri, in 2005. This is one lesson among many of how Israelophobia became a political weapon used by Arab tyrants and the power hungry against other Arabs. Unfortunately, former Lebanese PM Fuad Siniora did not comprehend this when in August 2006 he urged the great powers dominating the UN Security Council to pass a war-ending resolution that had little teeth to prevent Hizbullah from rearming and receiving weapons from Syria. The Hizb rearmed to the point where it predominates over the whole Lebanese political/military system, even without direct Syrian intervention except to supply weapons across the Lebanon-Syria border that barely exists now in reality. That disastrous UN SC resolution, 1701, has led to the current pathetic situation of joint Syrian-Iranian-Hizbullah domination of the country and Hizb threats of a renewed civil war if the UN Tribunal to investigate the Hariri murder identifies prime suspects in the murder, naming names. UN SC res. 1701 has also led to A-jad's triumphal visit to Lebanon, whereas he has called southern Lebanon, "Iran's border with Israel." To conclude, let's not forget the shameful role in promoting 1701 of Israel's moronic then foreign minister, Tsipi Livni, still today bleating stupid admonitions at PM Netanyahu, and Israel's crooked prime minister at that time, Ehud Olmert, now on trial and also admonishing Netanyahu, not overlooking Condoleezza Rice then secretary of state under George Bush II and the governments of Britain and France. And let's again cite Fuad Siniora for doing so much to bring Lebanon down to its present state.

Ahmadinejad accused of meddling in Lebanon's affairs

AFP - Lebanese politicians and members of civil society issued an open letter to Iran's president on Tuesday, accusing him on the eve of his official visit to Lebanon of meddling in the country's affairs.

The letter was signed by some 250 people, among them former MPs close to the Western-backed parliamentary majority, doctors, teachers and journalists. It lashed out at Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over Iran's support of Lebanon's Shiite militant group Hezbollah.

"One group in Lebanon draws its power from you ... and has wielded it over another group and the state," said the letter, a copy of which was obtained by AFP.

"You are repeating what others have done before you by interfering in our internal affairs," the letter added, referring to Tehran's financial and military backing of Hezbollah, considered a proxy of Iran.

Hezbollah, far the most powerful military and political force in Lebanon, has been locked in a standoff with Western- and Saudi-backed Prime Minister Saad Hariri over a probe into the 2005 murder of his father, ex-premier Rafiq Hariri.

Tensions have been mounting between the two sides over unconfirmed reports that a UN-backed tribunal is set to indict Hezbollah members over the murder, a scenario the militant group has openly rejected.

Hezbollah is the only party in Lebanon that refused to surrender its weapons after the end of the 1975-1990 civil war, arguing they were needed to defend the country against Israeli aggression.

The letter, signed by former MPs Fares Souaid, Samir Frangieh and Elias Atallah, criticized Ahmadinejad for declaring support for the Lebanese state while simultaneously providing Hezbollah with financial and military backing.

"Your support of the state is negated by your parallel financial and military support to one party in Lebanon," the letter said, referring to Hezbollah.

"Your talk of 'changing the face of the region starting with Lebanon' ... and 'wiping Israel off the map through the force of the Islamic resistance in Lebanon' ... gives the impression that your visit is that of a high commander to his front line," it added.

The letter also urged Ahmadinejad to convince Hezbollah during a two-day visit starting Wednesday to exist within the confines of the state.

Ahmadinejad is set to meet with his Lebanese counterpart Michel Sleiman as well as Hariri and other politicians during his trip, which will be his first to Lebanon since his election in 2005.

However, the highlight of the visit will be a tour of Lebanon's volatile border with his arch-enemy Israel.

What the World Needs to Know Now about the Arab-Israeli Conflict

As Prime Minister Netanyahu flies to Washington to meet His Phoniness, here are some points to bring up to the world.


The US president during the Holocaust was Franklin D Roosevelt, known as liberal and a progressive, like Obama. FDR made no effort to help the Jews in the death camps, the labor camps, or on the railroads on their way to them, or the Jews in the ghettoes, as in Warsaw. The British policy was that their BBC "news" outlet could not report on the Holocaust until too much became known about it in London and continuing to ignore it would have lost credibility for the bbc. FDR made a few minor gestures in the last half of the war which supplied little help to the Jews. This was done under considerable public pressure.

The UK issued the "White Paper on Palestine" in 1939 which in effect revoked unilaterally the UK's mandate from the League of Nations to foster development of the Land of Israel as the Jewish National Home. This was a violation of international law, as the League's Permanent Mandates Commission concluded. But the UK was not moved to allow Jews into Israel when the Jews most needed a home, even a temporary refuge. This was a precedent of a major Western power violating a solemn commitment to help the Jews. Israel can expect nothing better from Washington. Tony Blair in facts speaks of his pet project of another Arab state in the Land of Israel, as if the UK had never betrayed the Jews so severely.

The vehement anger in Washington and London against Jews settling in/moving to/ Judea-Samaria, parts of the internationally designated Jewish National Home, is RACISM. It is simply the old Judeophobia dressed up in fake anti-imperialist garb. Obama as a Black man should be the last US official to push this Judeophobic, RACIST policy. However, it is undeniably useful to the anti-Jewish racists that they have a brown-face as their front man to hide behind. It is forgotten that the US Govt energetically worked to bring Black Americans into neighborhoods that were purely white, including ethnic neighborhoods of Irish, Italian, and Polish Americans. This was all done for the sake of anti-Racism. Why can't US officials today realize and admit that their policy on Jews in Judea-Samaria is anti-Jewish Racism?

If these foreign policy paladins are unaware, their anti-settlement policy allows the Arabs to continue their age-old oppression of Jews. Condoleeza Rice tried to pretend that somehow the Jews were racist to the Arabs. In fact, throughout history since the Arab Conquest, the Arabs have had the upper hand and have oppressed, exploited economically and humiliated Jews. Tony Blair and Obama ought to be informed of this historical reality. Maybe they really don't know.

Obamanazi Shows His Hand -- Wants Israel to "compromise"

Barack Obama, the man who isn't sure who he really is, has shown his anti-Israel hand. He said today, approximately:

Each side "knows the compromises that need to be made."

That's an old line that we are used to hearing from the State Department for many years now. It's a stale line. It's deceitful. The State Department was an enemy of the Jews before WW2, in the 1930s. The head of the German desk, Eleanor Dulles, sympathized with Hitler. Sometimes compromises on both sides are needed to make peace. However, Arabs --and other Muslims-- do not as a rule make compromises. They make demands and once a demand has been accepted or agreed to by the other side, they make a new demand. It has been clear since the disastrous Oslo Accords that the PLO has no intention of making peace but merely have used the so-called "peace process" in order to improve their strategic situation on the ground. That is, they have successfully managed to receive areas strategically vital to Israel by diplomacy and negotiations, not so much their own diplomacy and negotiations but US diplomatic pressure on Israel. The first Bush + Clinton + Bush 2 have all pressured Israel to make concessions [=" compromises"]. The more Israeli concessions the more PLO demands, the more war and the more dead Jews [and dead Arabs too].

More recently, the UK and US have promoted or enabled Hamas control of Gaza. The UK did this more openly, the US less so. However, Condonazzia of the Third Rice, US secretary of state, helped Hamas take over Gaza in two very specific ways:
1) she pressured Israel to allow Hamas to take part in the Palestinian Authority elections in January 2006, although according to the Oslo accords, only parties that accepted those accords were to be allowed to take part in PA elections. Hamas not only rejected those accords but vows never to make peace with Israel and its charter openly, clearly calls for mass murder of the Jews, that is, genocide. This is especially notable in Article 7 of the Charter that repeats the medieval Muslim fable of the Muslims killing Jews at the End of Days.

On Judgement Day, the Muslims will kill the Jews who will hide behind rocks and trees. The rocks and trees will cry out: O Muslim, a Jew is hiding behind me. Come kill him.

Nevertheless, although the Hamas Charter was known to Condonazzia --or should have been known to her-- she still pressured the foolish olmert and/or Sharon to allow participation by the anti-democratic Hamas in the PA elections. Maybe she did this in the name of "democracy" despite Hamas' clear loathing for democracy. The State Dept has also lately held up the sister movement to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, as a democratic player in that country's politics.

2) Condonazzia also pressured Sharon before the withdrawal from Gaza to also withdraw from the border zone along the Egyptian border, called the Philadelphi Corridor. Without supervision by Israeli forces, the smuggling of heavy weapons, grad/katyusha rockets, anti-aircradft missiles, anti-tank missiles, RPGs, etc., under the border increased manifold. Sharon, who suffered Alzheimer's and had apparently suffered some small strokes before the two strokes that made him into a vegetable, was not mentally fit to contend with Condonazzia and gave in on this vital issue. Now, because Israeli forces did not stay in that border zone --which instead was supervised by reluctant EU or NATO observers who couldn't care less for Jewish lives-- Hamas was able to build up a formidable, very threatening force in Gaza.

On both counts above, Condonazzia helped create the monstrous Hamas Islamo-terrorist statelet in the Gaza Strip. On both counts above, Condonazzia of the Third Rice bears major responsibility --that is, guilt-- for the current war going on there. She is guilty for the hundreds of dead on both sides, as well as those killed in the Fatah-Hamas civil war in June 2007 and before, and for the local Christians murdered by Hamas and other Islamists since the Hamas takeover. This war could rightly be called "Condi's War."

But Condonazzia's policy was a continuation of anti-Israel State Dept policy. Obama is more obvious in his hatred. We have seen this kind of hatred before from State Dept types. Those in the State Dept who didn't want to help Jews under the Nazi threat during and before WW2 were still around when Israel was being created and had not changed their spots. The Eisenhower Administration was ruled in foreign policy by the Dulles brothers, whose sister Eleanor had sympathized with Hitler. The Jimmy Carter regime had zbig brzezinski. Bush I had James Baker. And now Obama seems set on bringing zbig back into policymaking. Maybe james baker too.

What we can do now is to protest against Obama. He deserves no period of grace. We already know that he is a mortal threat. Those of us in Israel could protest at parties held here in Israel by the Democrats Abroad-Israel to "celebrate" the inauguration of this anti-Jewish racist. The DA-Israel wants this to be a "bipartisan" celebration. Some Republicans may want to attend. But decent Jews will not want to go. The party of Jewish rights, of real peace for Jews and Israel, cannot celebrate Obama.

One of the interesting things about the anti-Israel demonstrations taking place in various parts of the world, is that the "leftist" demonstrations often recycle old State Dept anti-Israel slogans, as Obama does, and also feature slogans that once would have been considered Nazi. They are still Nazi. Anyhow, it now appears that what much of what is called the "Left" serves the anti-Israel policies of the UK Foreign Office and US State Dept. The "Left's" former devotion to the working class is forgotten while promoting the IslamoNazis of Hamas, Iran, Hizbullah, etc. Whereas Lenin stated that imperialism was an expression of finance capital, the Left today ignores the huge capital possessed by Arab potentates who support Hamas, as well as exploiting --sometimes enslaving-- millions of foreign workers in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc. Most of the "Left" today is a vehicle for Judeophobia and for promoting Islamic jihad.

What Israel Has to Say to the World about Gaza and Hamas & Why We Need a Ground Offensive

Israel has the right to make war on the Hamas in Gaza. The Israeli army has the duty to wipe out all military power of Hamas in Gaza. The fact that the present Israeli government did not wipe out Hamas military power in Gaza in the past and did not prevent Hamas from building up a significant stock of missiles, anti-personnel missiles, anti-civilian missiles, to be exact, was a dereliction of duty of the present government. The present govt of Israel --the crooks and misfits and two-legged rats typified by olmert, barak, & livni-- allowed Hamas to bring into Gaza katyusha/Grad rockets normally manufactured, superior to the Gaza-made Qassam rockets that Hamas and the other terrorist gangs were previously using. The Qassam rockets had a relatively short range and a smaller warhead [explosive charge] than the katyushas.

The "cease fires" and "hudnas" that olmert-barak-livni accepted with Hamas gave these IslamoNazis an opportunity to build up stocks of weapons and build fortifications and concealed storage places for weapons, to train their gunmen and rocket-shooters, etc. They also allowed the Hamas [and PA (palestinian authority)] TV, radio, press, schools, mosques, etc. to continue the anti-Israel, anti-Jewish indoctrination of the Arab population in the Hamas-ruled and PA-ruled zones. In this endeavor, Hamas was aided by the Bush Administration which falsely parades under the colors of a "war on terror." The Bush Administration has in fact encouraged terrorism. We don't expect the incoming obominable adminstration to do any better, probably worse. The Bush Administration, through Condonazzia of the Third Rice, pressured Sharon to give up control of the strip of land between Egypt and Gaza, called the Philadelphi Corridor. By giving up control of this zone, and Arab tunnels had long made Israeli control of the zone much less than complete, Sharon allowed smuggling of weapons under the Gaza-Egypt border to go on without restraint except for some fitful, reluctant Egyptian efforts. That is, Sharon, pressured by Condonazzia, had placed Israel's security in the hands of Egypt and equally ineffective and reluctant EU observers whose authority was only over the ground-level passages/crossings, not over the tunnels underground, under the border.

Secretary of State Condonazzia also pressured Israel to let Hamas take part in the palestinian authority elections of January 2006. However, under the Oslo Accords, no party opposed to those accords was allowed to take part in elections. Sharon gave in to Condonazzia on both items: the Philadelphi Corridor and Hamas participation in PA elections. Condonazzia can now take pride in her destructive, pro-terrorist achievements. The Israeli air force has succeeded marvelously in destroying much of the Hamas terrorist/military and political infrastructure in Gaza. However, in order to stop --or much more effectively hinder-- rockets from being shot at Israeli towns, cities, rural communities, a ground operation is needed. This operation need not be costly in the lives of our soldiers. The northern part of the Strip where three pleasant Israeli communities were located before their expulsion by Sharon in 2005 has not been populated by the PA or by Hamas since it took over Gaza in June 2007. The northern part of the Strip could be militarily taken over without displacing the non-existent Arab civilian population. Further, taking that area would make it impossible for Hamas to shoot rockets from there, and it so happens that the northern part of the Strip is the closest part to Sderot, Ashqelon, Ashdod and -- Tel Aviv. Hence, part of defending major Israeli population centers from Hamas rockets, in the event that Hamas rule in the Gaza Strip is not completely overthrown, is holding the area of the northern and northeastern Gaza Strip. Since Abu Mazen's Fatah gang is also out for conquest in the Islamic sense [its very name, Fatah, means conquest and invasion in Arabic and refers to the medieval Arab conquests], if Fatah rule [misrule] is renewed in Gaza, then such a buffer zone would still be needed. At the same time, holding the northern and northeastern part of the Strip would not entail ruling over an Arab civilian population since it does not exist there. Further, this would not be "occupation" since Gaza was part of the Jewish Natonal Home juridically erected by the San Remo Conference and League of Nations in 1920 & 1922. Moreover, vast areas of Germany were taken from it at the end of WW2 on the grounds that these areas had served as platforms for German aggression against Poland, Czechoslovakia, the USSR, etc., and that they should be taken from Germany in order to prevent future German aggression.

Now, part of a country's self-defense is persuading outside powers not directly involved in a conflict that the country is in the right. This is hard for Israel to do because of the hostility to Israel built into the international system --into Western and Muslim culture-- as an inheritance from classic Judeophobia [called "antisemitism"]. The right Israeli response is not to say that "nothing can be done." All the Judeophobia notwithstanding, Israel must make the right arguments in its defense and it can succeed --at least to some extent. There are knowledgeable and fairminded people in the world and lies can be refuted. Yet, when a destructive old fool named Shimon Peres became foreign minister in 1986, with Yossi Beilin as deputy minister, the information dept of the Foreign Ministry was shut down. Peres stupidly argued that "good policies" and "right policies" were enough for winning international support. Information was not important, he said. So Israel's information/hasbarah effort, not very good even before 1986, was almost totally wiped out. The gap has been filled to some extent by many private bodies and individuals but when the official leaders, like olmert, livni, barak, talk so foolishly so often, the work of these private persons [Jews and Gentiles both] becomes harder. The TV pundits tell us that our govt has learned some lessons about warfare and public information from the Vinograd report on the 2006 Lebanon War. This may be so. However, some points are still not being made. Here are some arguments that Israeli spokesmen should now be making:

1) the Nazi nature --the genocidal nature-- of Hamas' objectives regarding Israel and the Jewish people [see Article 7 of Hamas charter through links below].

2) that Hamas is a part of the worldwide jihad movement and an affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood centered in Egypt where, incidentally, MB is a threat to Mubarak's rule. Some mentally deranged American political scientists and State Dept operatives want to see the MB as a "democratic" force in Egyptian politics. It may be true that the MB represents a majority of Egyptians but this is hardly democracy since the MB denies human rights --let alone equal rights-- for non-Muslims. Note how MB treats the Copts in Egypt, the purest descendants of the ancient Egyptians. MB, like Hamas, is not a democratic alternative to Mubarak's regime --or to Abu Mazen, etc.

3) the objective of the war should be to make it impossible for Hamas to continue its aggression against Israel by rockets or any other means. Why should Israelis have to live under the threat of katyushas/grads or qassams or mortars, etc??? Demanding that Israel go soft on Hamas out of pretended concern for Arab civilians in Gaza is inhuman and racist against Jews. It is a denial of Jewish human rights. This objective CANNOT be achieved by an agreement. Neither Hamas nor Fatah for that matter has any respect for agreements with infidels or even fellow Muslims. Arafat stated this frankly a few weeks after the handshake on the White House lawn [9-13-1993, a day that will live in infamy]. This was in his notorious Johannesburg speech which mentioned Muhammad's Hudaybiyyah treaty which Muhammad broke when it suited him, that is, when he felt that his forces were capable of defeating his enemy with whom he had made the treaty. This is significant today since Muslims hold Muhammad and whatever he did as noble and worthy of emulation, whether lying for the purpose of conquest or slaughtering Jews or slaughtering his Arab critics or marrying a six-year old girl, etc. So if Muhammad broke the Hudaybiyyah Treaty when it suited him, then arafat is allowed, even commanded, to break any peace treaty made with the infidel Jews, often described in the Quran as descendants of apes and pigs.

4) UK, EU, and UN denunciation of Israel for killing civilians or being "disproportionate" in killing civilians is sinister Judeophobic hypocrisy. Nazi Germany started the 2nd World War, albeit with diplomatic help from UK prime minister Chamberlain. The Luftwaffe bombed Poland [especially Jewish neighborhoods], the Netherlands, France, and, eventually, Britain. Many civilians were killed in these bombings. When Britain struck back with its own bombings later in the war, it killed many more German civilians than British civilians had been killed by the Germans. Consider Dresden as an example. Also note the bombing of Hamburg, of Tokyo and the A-bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Does the UK or US express guilt over those bombings and those civilian deaths that they caused?? On the other hand, Hamas specifically targets Israeli civilians whereas Israel targets military and Hamas political targets. [see links on international law below]
5) Hamas is as strong as it is partly because of Brzezinski diplomacy. Zbig Brzezinski was jimmy carter's national insecurity advisor. His machinations helped Khomeini take over Iran. Now the world, especially Israel, is suffering from Zbig's sinister intrigues. Diplomacy can be harmful to peace just as sometimes, it may bring peace. But mere negotiations by themselves do not bring peace with aggressive fanatic rulers who believe in war, whether Hitler or Ahmadinejad or Hamas.

Hiding behind the Young, Fresh, New, Innocent face of Barack Obama, the "non-politician" supposedly untainted by Washington's corruption, are zbigniew brzezinski and brent scowcroft, corrupt foreign policy paladins from the carter and Reagan administrations. Their hate for Jews and Israel is palpable. They are now sharpening their knives over the prostrate body of Israel that they now believe has been brought down by domestic termites, the olmerts, livnis, and pereses and other species of pest.

Barack Obama is to pursue an ambitious peace plan in the Middle East involving the recognition of Israel by the Arab world in exchange for its withdrawal to pre-1967 borders, according to sources close to America’s president-elect.

Obama intends to throw his support behind a 2002 Saudi peace initiative endorsed by the Arab League and backed by Tzipi Livni, the Israeli foreign minister and leader of the ruling Kadima party. [London Times, 11-16-2008]

Arrogantly overlooking Israel's rights to Judea-Samaria and Gaza under international law, contemptuously eager to trample the human rights of Jewish inhabitants of Judea-Samaria and Jerusalem, eager to put all Jews in Israel in danger of both large conventional Arab armed forces and Arab low-intensity warfare so as to finish Hitler's work through the instrumentality of the Arabs --Hitler's allies during WW 2 and the Holocaust-- obama, the handmaiden of zbig and scowcroft, wants Israel to go back to the 1949-1967 armistice lines [Israel had no borders], which Abba Eban, a notorious dove, called "Auschwitz lines." The Saudi plan is not a peace plan. It is silly of course to think that merely signing a paper called a "peace treaty" brings peace. Poland had correct diplomatic relations with Nazi Germany in 1939. They were "at peace" before the German invasion in September of that year. Moreover, Israel needs the high ground of Judea-Samaria to defend the country as a whole. This area would have to be given up by Israel according to the Saudi Plan and according to the State Department and UK Foreign Office as well. Yet, from the international legal standpoint, the whole country, including Transjordan, was legally part of the Jewish National Home juridically erected by the international community in 1920 at San Remo. The notion of a "palestinian people" is a post-1948 invention of British psychological warfare experts. Indeed, the UK is a more dangerous enemy of Israel than the Arabs are. Note that zbig is to speak before the ChathamHouse, that is, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, a bastion of Judeophobia since Arnold Toynbee's days there from the 1920s through the 1950s. Don't forget the UK's silent partnership in the Holocaust. Britain's policy is based now as then on sheer Judeophobia. It cannot be appeased by Israeli territorial concessions to the Arabs. If the Arabs wanted to make real peace with Israel, the British would try to thwart it.

All this is not to say that the Arabs, including apartheid-like Saudi Arabia, are not a problem in themselves. Saudi Arabia forbids Jews to even enter the kingdom, let alone live there. This is based on old Muslim law. Arab-Muslims allowed Jews to live in the Land of Israel but only as oppressed, economically exploited, humiliated dhimmi subjects when the Arabs ruled the Land. Today, the Arabs and other Muslim fanatics have added Nazi and other European forms of Judeophobia to their age-old Islamic Judeophobia [on this see Andrew Bostom's recent compilation on Islamic Antisemitism].

The enemies of the Jews and Israel want Israeli retreat on the ground in order to seriously weaken Israel so that it cannot defend itself. It would also mean erasing the residence rights of Jews anywhere in the world. If they cannot live in their own homeland, then where do Jews have a right to live? Retreat would also mean deep humiliation of Jews. Israel's going back to the 1949 armistice lines "with insubstantial alterations," was the thrust of the 1969 Rogers Plan by Nixon's first secretary of state, William Rogers. So Obama's policy will not only be a worsening of George Bush Jr's anti-Israel policy [which also hides behind the black face of Condonazzia of the Third Rice] but will be a return to Nixon's declared policy in 1969.

The Obama policy is sheer evil. It is the true countenance behind obama's Young, Fresh, Innocent face.

No 100 Days of Grace for Zbig Brzezinski's Front Man "president"

Barack Obama won the presidential election thanks to his own lies and massive support for him by the media [MSM]. This is not to mention intimidation of voters by Obama supporters in Philadelphia and other places, apparently deliberate late dispatch of absentee ballots so that overseas voters would not be able to vote, an effective propaganda campaign in parts of the Jewish community, etc.

It is likely that he will soon make lying propaganda against Israel. He might declare that Israel is an apartheid state, that it oppresses "poor palestinians", that it took Arab land away from "poor palestinians", that it has no right to exist [this might be insinuated rather than explicitly stated], that Jews have no human or civil right to live on "Arab land," that Israel is to blame for the wars, etc. Since this is what is likely to happen, especially if no opposition emerges, then Obama should not get any days of grace at all. Strong criticism of Obama must continue. His critics must continue to demand release of what Obama said at the Khalidi farewell party in Chicago. Public demos and rallies would be helpful if some participation is assured. Even a small demonstration can be helpful. Interviews on talk radio, letters and articles for Jewish newspapers, lectures by and interviews with competent experts should be considered.

Remember that the Holocaust president Franklin D Roosevelt was a Democrat. Why can't a president Obama be just as bad? At the same time, bear in mind that certain Republicans, such as the Dulles family, helped the Nazis and later the Arabs. Eleanor Dulles was head of the German desk in the State Dept in the 1930s [This is not the time to speak of her relationship (tragic for him) with the Zionist and scholar of medieval Jewish literature, David Blondheim.]. Allen and John Foster Dulles were notoriously pro-Arab while running the foreign policy of the Eisenhower administration.

It should be pointed out that Obama's Israel policy is going to be a continuation of Bush's anti-Israel policy. But worse. Bush and his sidekick, Condonazzia of the Third Rice, oppose the Jewish right to live in Judea-Samaria, the Gaza Strip, and parts of Jerusalem under Jordanian control up June 1967. The Jewish majority in Jerusalem since 1853 makes no difference to them. That Arabs drove Jews out of their homes in Jerusalem starting in December 1947, in areas later taken over by Jordan, makes no difference to them. They always have an excuse: Peace. Even if their "solution" brings war not peace, they always claim to be working for peace. Even if their "solution" denies the national, human and civil rights of Jews, it is all for the sake of "peace."

So the answer to them has to be: Racism. You are for racism against Jews, not for peace. You hypocritically base your position on misrepresentations of international law. Your "peace process" is racist, Judeophobic. Your "humanitarian" concerns are hypocritical. If you really wanted peace, why not stop the mass-murder war in Sudan?? If you were really humanitarian, you should have intervened to stop the genocide against Blacks in southern Sudan fifty years ago. Why did the State Dept try to close the gates of immigration to the United States in the 1930s to Jews who were fleeing for their lives, whereas now neither Bush nor Obama really care about preventing illegal immigration of non-Jews who are not fleeing for their lives.

Why is Obama so dangerous? Because he is the new bottle for old wine. His skin color provides a hiding place for old time State Dept and CIA activists. He will shelter these old time racists and Judeophobes. He is their front man. You can't accuse us of racism against Jews. Our president is Black. Besides, Jews aren't a race. Jews have too much power. Jews are racist against poor palestinians [naturally, it is not mentioned that Arabs have oppressed Jews in Arabia and the lands conquered by the Muslim Arabs since the time of Muhammad, as well as holding them in theological contempt]. Jews are to blame for the wars. Even the wars that we helped start with our diplomacy, our espionage, our psywar guidance, our weapons, our training, our organizing, our money. The Dulles Brothers could not say these things so easily and have them believed since they were so obviously Establishment. They always appeared in public in jacket, tie, vest and tightly buttoned collar. But Obama's more relaxed sartorial style can be more effective in helping to convince the hoi polloi. His non-Establishment pretense can carry the day.

Then too, Obama is a superb demagogue, employing ruthless lies, as we have seen. You don't want to be the target of his demogoguery. He will come out in support of the whole Arab Judeophobic program and set of accusations. Apartheid, land theft, alien intruders, aggressors, oppressors, colonialists, racists, a Jewish state is illegitimate because a theocracy [and the Muslim states? Saudi Arabia?], etc. Unless friends of Israel and the Jews can anticipate him and state the truth about Arab oppression of Jews over the centuries before he gets control of the White House. As Zbig Brzezinski's front man, Obama is a danger not only to Jews but to the world [as N Cohen-Tanugi indicated in an earlier post]. And Obama is a great front man just as he is a superb demagogue. At the same time, protests against Obama should not spare Bush nor his secretary of state, Miss Bitter Rice [riso amaro].

The evil role of Jewish Democrats must be acknowledged before ending. They never effectively opposed Franklin Roosevelt's pro-Holocaust policy. Now they support Obama even when they understand what he really is. Congressman Jerold Nadler showed that he understood Obominable's cynical opportunism in remarks made at a Florida synagogue, not for public consumption [shown on Foxnews just before the election]. Yet Nadler still supported Obama.

Don't give Obama any days of grace. Don't wait until he makes his appointments. We know that they and he are going to be bad. His anti-Israel promises to Abu Mazen [Holocaust denier] have already leaked out. My last forecast is that even American Blacks may come to hate him, if their sons, boyfriends, husbands, brothers, start coming home from Afghanistan in body bags where the One says that he wants to send more troops.

Anti-Jewish Racists Deny the Jewish Right to Live in Judea-Samaria

It seems that the Palestinian Authority is the tail that wags the Western dog, making its overly generous Western benefactors jump through the hoops of "politically correct" Judeophobia and anti-Jewish racism, particularly, but not only, on the "settlement" issue. Do Jews have the right to live in Judea-Samaria, the heart of the ancient Land of Israel? The palestinian authority denies this right. Its brothers in the Arab League delightedly pick up the relay baton to beat the Jews with, and major Western powers fall in line. Saudi Arabia shares the denial of Jewish rights with other Arab League members and has great influence over American policy as well. Saudi money also influences other Arab states. Indeed, one report claims that a proposed UN Security Council resolution against Israeli "settlements" actually originated with the Saudis, not the palestinian authority.

Meanwhile, Condoleezza Rice has accepted the Arab claims and joined in the hate chorus against Israel. She does not want Jews to even build homes in Jerusalem which has had a Jewish majority since 1853, if not before, in Jerusalem, a city which became famous and significant to the world because of the Jewish history that took place there.

Condi represents the State Department which has long been anti-Israel in mood, tone, and policy, no matter who was in the White House. The racist attitude of Condi and her department as to where Jews may and may not reside goes back many years. This SD policy has no foundation in international law, which does not stop Condi and her cothinkers in the EU and UN from misrepresenting international law. One of the first to do this was the UN secretary-general, Ban Ki-Moon, whose position is reported here.

Why is it racist to exclude Jews from inhabiting Judea-Samaria, or Gaza for that matter? First, because forbidding people to live in certain places because of their ethnic group or race, is racism, right off, ipso facto. Then, the forbidden people are Jews. Jews have been forbidden to inhabit many countries since their defeat at the end of the Bar Kokhba Revolt. This includes the city of Jerusalem at the time of the defeat [135 CE] and Arabia after Muhammad and various countries in Europe from which Jews were driven out: England, France, Spain, parts of Germany, etc. The Russian Empire kept most Jews segregated in an area called the Pale of Settlement [Maybe the Quartet wants us to go back to live in the Pale of Settlement. That settlement would be OK]. So Condi Rice's policy should be viewed as anti-Jewish racism right off for that reason. The policy is often justified by claims that Judea-Samaria are "occupied" and that "international law" [Geneva Convention IV] forbids "transfer" of population to occupied territories. But Judea-Samaria are parts of the ancient Jewish homeland, of the Roman province of Judea. Denying the right of an exiled people to live in its homeland is unjust right off, isn't it? As to "transfer," which means compulsory migration, it does not apply since the Jews who went to live in Judea-Samaria and the Gaza Strip did so willingly, indeed eagerly. Ironically, the no "transfer" clause in Geneva IV was meant to prevent Nazi-like mass deportations, which the "international community" --including the Western allies-- had done nothing to stop in the case of the Jews during the Holocaust, albeit a few countries were helpful to the Jews at that time.

International law, properly understood without the self-interested misrepresentations made by Arabs and Western Judeophobes and UN officials, recognizes the Jewish rights to Judea-Samaria which are parts of the Jewish National Home recognized by the San Remo Conference and the League of Nations, a status confirmed in the UN charter [Article 80]. The partition plan recommended by the UN General Assembly in 1947 could not withdraw that recognition since it was a mere recommendation. Moreover, the Security Council did not have authority to withdraw a right recognized in the Charter itself.

Why are the EU, UK, USA, and UN so eager to deny Jewish rights to "settle" or build homes in Judea-Samaria??? Why does Condi Rice claim that Jews living in Judea-Samaria are "obstacles to peace" or some version of this claim?? Why isn't the Arab refusal to recognize the Jewish rights of residence in those places seen as an "obstacle to peace"?? The most likely explanation is Judeophobia. If they were really interested in human welfare, peace, human rights, etc. then they would have denounced the genocide perpetrated in the Sudan many years ago. Even now, the UN spends more time berating and dehumanizing Israel than it does on, for instance, the Darfur humanitarian crisis. If it's not Judeophobia, anti-Jewish racism, then find a better answer.

Just to clear up some history, while the Jewish National Home was controlled by British mandatory forces, Jews were driven out of several localities of great historical and religious importance for Jews, Hebron, parts of the Old City of Jerusalem, etc. Now the Arabs have the hutspah to claim that the part of Jerusalem that Arab forces took over in 1947-1948 is "traditionally Arab east Jerusalem." Yet the city has had a Jewish majority at least since 1853, with the all Jews living in the Old City in that year. In modern times, forbidding Jews to live in certain places was a feature of Nazi rule and their Judenrein policy. But the British too imposed land purchase regulations on Israel in 1940 as a follow up to the 1939 White Paper on palestine. Israel was divided into zones where Jews could or could not buy real estate. In the Jerusalem zone, Jews could only buy real estate from other Jews or from non-Muslims, not from Muslim Arabs. Most of the country was off limits to Jewish land purchase. And this was during the Holocaust!!! When Transjordan [now Jordan] took over most of Judea-Samaria in 1948, it imposed a total exclusion of Jews from living anywhere in the kingdom or even visiting the kingdom or even visiting Jewish holy places [such as Hebron and the Temple Mount], although Jordan had agreed to visits to the Jewish holy places in the armistice accord with Israel. If someone can supply a better explanation than Judeophobia for the exclusion of Jews, please let me know.

More recently, the so-called Quartet, the UN, EU, Russia, and USA pressured Israel to accept the so-called Road Map "peace plan." But this is a racist, Judeophobic document, since it demands that Israel stop building homes for Jews in parts of the internationally recognized Jewish National Home. The Road Map puts conditions on the palestinian Arabs too, to be sure, but we hear no demand that the PA stop violation of the two crucial conditions: 1) to stop anti-Jewish hate agitation and propaganda in its TV, radio, press, schools, mosques, etc. 2) to disarm terrorist militias. So here we have in fact two offenses by the "international community" against the Jews and the State of Israel. One is the simple, obvious racism of campaigning against Jews living in Judea-Samaria. The other is the violation of past international commitments to Israel and the Jews, such as the Jewish National Home principle accepted in 1920 at San Remo and subsequently endorsed in several international instruments, as well as the Road Map itself that made certain demands on the Arab side, as above, which nobody seems to remember anymore, not even the Israel government under its current illegitimate prime minister who by rights should be prosecuted and sent to jail for many many crimes. Now, the UN Security Council is taking up the Jewish offense of living where the Judeophobes don't want them to live. The EU and UK state with gusto that Jews don't have rights to live in the "wrong" places. The US position is slightly more moderate. That is, Jews building homes in Judea-Samaria or living there, are disrupting a "peace process" or an "obstacle to peace" or whatever slander the State Dept and Condi can think up. Ban-Ki Moon, UN secretary general, groundlessly claims that building for Jews inhabitants in Judea-Samaria is against "international law," which is false. It is also not Moon's job to interpret international law, much less to misrepresent it. President Bush took pride in being the first president of the US to come out for a "palestinian state," that is for a people that never existed in history, in an interview with a French paper. He added that he didn't want such a state to look like "Swiss cheese," a hint that Jewish settlements could do that [Maqor Rishon, 6-13-2008] . But what about the State of Israel and Jewish rights?? Furthermore, the Security Council debate is being spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and other Arab states which have a very bad record on human rights, as everyone knows. It is quite relevant that both Jordan and Saudi Arabia have laws forbidding Jews to live in those countries. And now they want to enforce such exclusion in the Jews' own country!!!

Condoleezza Rice Embraces Anti-Israel Terrorists -- Her Friends in Kossovo Traffic in Human Body Parts

We have long known that Condoleezza Rice [riso amaro] is partial to Arab terrorists who believe that they have the right to murder Jews. We don't know whether Condi goes so far as to share that attitude. But she has spoken in a favorable way in the past about both Fatah & Hamas. Meanwhile, we also know that Condi and the State Department, even before she became secretary of state, favored the ethnic Albanian terrorists in Kossovo. Support for the breakup of Yugoslavia and for the several ethnic groups there hostile to Serbs appeared as early as the first Bush administration, in the days of Daddy Bush. Recently, George Junior's State Dept, led by Condi, has been promoting Kossovo independence, although it has been known that scores of thousands of ethnic Serbs were "ethnically cleansed" from there since the 1999 war, not to mention Serbs driven out of Kossovo starting in the 1970s when the area was under ethnic Albanian government within the Yugoslav framework.

Now it turns out that Condi's friends in Kossovo were trafficking in human body parts. This is the accusation of Carla del Ponte, the former chief prosecutor of the Hague court on crimes in the former Yugoslavia.

Kosovo Albanian leaders have been implicated in the war-time trafficking of organs taken from hundreds of Serbs, according to a book by former UN war crimes prosecutor Carla Del Ponte.

The book entitled "The Hunt: Me and War Criminals" alleges those involved in the trafficking included leaders of the separatist Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) which fought Serbian forces at the time in mid-1999.

Del Ponte wrote that around 300 prisoners, including women and other Slavs, were kidnapped and transported from Kosovo to Albania, where they were locked up and had their organs removed.

"These organs were then sent from Tirana airport to private clinics to be implanted in patients abroad who paid," she said in the book, available in Italy under the title "La Caccia: Io e i criminali di guerra." [Agence France-Presse, France24 (French counterpart of the BBC), 14 April 2008]

Condi's friends now running the Kossovo govt were kidnapping live people, mainly Serbs, to use their organs in trade in order to make money.

For condoleezza rice's pro-Hamas sympathies, see here. It's true that rice has recently criticized jimmy carter for meeting the top Hamas leaders in Damascus against official US Govt policy. But it is clear that she herself --and most likely the State Dept as an institution-- wants to bring Hamas into "talks" with Israel, thereby diminishing Israel by placing it on the level of a Nazi-like, outlaw body that wants to commit genocide against Jews [see Article 7 of Hamas charter].

The BBC website in English mentions Carla del Ponte's charge of organ trafficking very briefly towards the end of an article devoted to the appointment of a new chief prosecutor for the Hague Tribunal and his meetings with Serbian officials. The very important body parts story is NOT the subject of an article in its own right. Thus, the BBC wanted to minimize what is a very sensational story.
Where are Amnesty International & Human Rights Watch on this story? Isn't this a human rights matter?? Suppose that there were some way to connect an Israeli, any Israeli or any Jew, to a similar story. Would the BBC or Amnesty or HRW show any restraint or hesitation whatsoever in featuring it prominently in their broadcasts, on their website, or in their press releases???
