Top Palestinian Arab Leader Collaborated with the Nazis & in the Holocaust -- PLO/PA Calls Israel "Nazi"

In another one of the outrageous and deceitful statements of the PLO and its embodiment in the "palestinian authority," the PLO/PA delegate to the UN accused Israel of acting like Nazis by calling Arab terrorists terrorists. The terrorists don't like to be called terrorists.

First, let's clear up the issue of "occupation." The PLO/PA delegate, one Riyad Mansour, claims:
". . . all colonizers, all occupiers, including those who suppressed the Warsaw [Ghetto] uprising, labeled those who resisted them as terrorists.” [i24 news TV - 4-27-2016]

As a matter of fact, Germany, Austria and Japan were occupied after World War 2. Germans (including Austro-Germans) or Japanese who resisted that occupation in any violent manner might have been called terrorists. In any case, they would have been suppressed violently and firmly. They would have found little sympathy in the world of that time, outside the Arab lands and Franco Spain, for example. Nazi German war criminals were given refuge in Egypt, Syria, Spain and several South American countries. In Egypt and Syria, Nazi veterans like Johannes van Leer obtained high positions in the state apparatus, where they often were used to work against Jews, such as making propaganda against them. The USA, USSR, UK and France were proud of occupying the former Axis powers. They were not ashamed. Russia still occupies vast expanses of pre-WW2 Japan at first occupied by its forerunner, the USSR.

Another point is that Mansour did not specifically mention the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943. Someone at i24 TV, perhaps someone ignorant of real history, inserted the word         "[Ghetto]" into Mansour's text in brackets. In fact, there was a Polish nationalist uprising in Warsaw in 1944, a year after the Jewish ghetto revolt. Maybe Mansour was referring to that revolt. Be that as it may, this Polish uprising was suppressed in blood, as the Jewish uprising had been the year before. In both cases, by the German SS and Wehrmacht. 

Now, the main problem with Mansour's words is that precisely the top leader of the Palestinian Arabs in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, Haj Amin el-Husseini, was a Nazi collaborator. He spent most of the war years in the Nazi-fascist domain in Europe, with a Nazi-subsidized headquarters [by Himmler] in Berlin. He visited Auschwitz and broadcast over Radio Berlin calls to murder Jews ["Kill them wherever you find them . . . "]. He also helped recruit a SS division made up of Bosnian Muslims which was called the Handschar [after khanjar - a kind of traditional Muslim sword]. This Handschar SS division became notorious for its massacres and atrocities in Bosnia and elsewhere in Yugoslavia, Serbia, Croatia, etc.
During and after WW2, Husseini and his criminal acts were notorious in the civilized world. However, the Big Four Powers, USA, UK, USSR & France protected him from being prosecuted at Nuremberg as a war criminal, which he surely was. Indeed, Yugoslavia put him on the UN's list of war criminals but the secretary-general of the newly formed Arab League, Azzam Pasha, went to Yugoslavia and persuaded the country's new Communist dictator, Tito, to allow Husseini to go without being prosecuted or punished for his crimes in Yugoslavia [recruiting the Handschar].

It needs to also be stated that in the Spring of 1941, Husseini was in Baghdad, Iraq, then under a pro-Nazi regime where he agitated against the local Jews. This culminated in the Farhud massacre which took place in Baghdad on the Shavu`ot holiday of 1941. In Berlin, his headquarters and institute for training pro-Nazi imams included sons of most of the leading Palestinian Arab families. So Husseini's pro-Nazi crimes were not  individual acts but acts for which most of the Palestinian Arab leadership was responsible.
It is regrettable that Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, assumed that Mansour was referring to the 1943 Jewish Warsaw Ghetto Revolt rather than the 1944 Polish uprising. On the other hand, maybe Mansour was deliberately being vague, trying to allow people to read into his words whatever they wanted. Maybe he was intimating that he recognized the Jewish Ghetto Revolt without explicitly mentioning it. Because in their Arabic-language statements, the PLO/PA does not recognize the Holocaust [nor does the Hamas]. Or only seldom. As we know, Mahmoud Abbas himself, accused the Jews/Zionists of exaggerating the numbers of Jews killed by the Nazis.

The Palestinian representitive to the United Nations on Wednesday said that Israel labels its opponents as terrorists in similar fashion to the Nazi regime's suppression of Warsaw Ghetto uprising fighters.

✕"[Israel’s] representative on the UN Security Council trying [sic] to show that all the Palestinian people who have legitimate rights to resist occupation in legitimate ways he paints them as terrorists," said Palestinian UN ambassador Riyad Mansour, speaking at a press conference in New York.

"Guess what, all colonizers, all occupiers, including those who suppressed the Warsaw [Ghetto] uprising, labeled those who resisted them as terrorists,” the Times of Israel quotes Mansour.

Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon rejected the comparison, calling on the international community to condemn the accusation.

"Any equalization between the Nazi’s and Israeli democracy is despicable and is worthy of denunciation from the international community," Danon said.

"The Palestinians continue to lie to the world and to turn to the international community with crazy claims, rather than to fight incitement and terrorism."

High Schoolers in Land of Arab Spring Revere Hitler & ISIL

Hitler was very popular among Arab nationalists before WW2 in the 1930s. Now, 70 years after the end of the Nazi German Holocaust, perpetrated under Hitler's command, he is popular among some Arab youth, students at at least two high schools in Tunisia, the land where the Arab Spring began. This has been revealed in French media organs

In Tunisia, "Islamofascism" is not merely a media formula. It can take on a quite concrete appearance. . . . At the high school in  Jendouba in the northeast of the country, a banner showing Hitler saluting the German flag was displayed, the site of Francetv Géopolis reports.

In the girls high school of Kairowan (LJFK), the religious center of Tunisia, a banner showing a representation of the persecutions of the Islamic State was hung on a wall. One can see on it a masked warrior armed with a scimitar accompanied by two prisoners dressed in the typical orange pajama. One of them in flames might represent the Jordanian pilot burned alive by Da`ash [ISIL] last February.

The article in Le Figaro looks for an excuse why many in the Arab world are so fascinated with Hitler. And the reporter finds a false reason.

The fascination for the 3rd Reich is not rare in the Arab countries, which did not undergo the trauma of Nazism and are gladly hostile to Israel.

This reason is false because in fact Nazi German troops, the Wehrmacht, did occupy Tunisia in late 1942 and early 1943. The Jews there were subjected to the preliminary stages of the Holocaust while mass murder camps were being built in North Africa. In fact, Walter Rauff, the Nazi expert in murdering Jews spent several months in Tunisia. Read excerpts from his reports to his superiors and diaries here.

Negotiating with Iran, the Powers Avoid Crimes against the Jews

The Major Western Powers --the US, UK, France, & Germany -- have been negotiating with Iran over its nuclear bomb project for many years. As far back as 2003, these powers, all sitting on the board of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, got a motion passed at that body to give Iran "one last chance" to prove that it was not in violation [non-compliance] with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the NPT. Of course Iran was in violation and of course everybody knew it. But such are the strange ways of diplomacy that mild sanctions were not applied against Iran for non-compliance until 2007 while "biting sanctions" took effect only in January 2012. All the while Iran was developing the capacity to produce a nuclear bomb.

Meanwhile, in 2006 these four Western powers were joined by Russia and China in a group called P5 +1, referring to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany. The biting or punitive sanctions imposed as of January 2012 were having a severe effect on the Iranian economy. However, in late 2013 Obama and Kerry decided to ease the sanctions and negotiate with the ayatollahs. All this instead of enforcing the terms of the NPT. In fact, the NPT is hardly ever mentioned, which likely leaves many people wondering what is the legal ground for preventing Iran from developing The Bomb.

Nevertheless, my object in this post is a violation of international law by Iran that the P5 + 1 powers seem to be totally disinterested in. I refer to the threats against Israel coming out of Teheran. Such threats are forbidden by the UN charter, Article 2, clause 4:
"All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations."

Hatred for Jews and Israel goes back to the early days of the Khomeini takeover of Iran, facilitated at the time by the policy of Zbigniew Brzezinski, national security advisor for President Carter.

However, the first threat that I have dug up goes back to 20 October 2006 when Ahmadinajad stated:
"Israel will disappear . . . [because of] the rage of hundreds of millions of Muslims"
[quoted by Carlo Panella in Fascismo Islamico (Milan: Rizzoli 2007), pp 23-24]

Since then assorted Iranian leaders and officials have threatened Israel again and again:

"The Zionists should know that a U.S. military attack on Syria will not save the fake regime from the resistance but it means the immediate destruction of Israel," Jafari was quoted as saying.” [here]

8/26/2013 ". . . . the Zionist regime will be the first victim of a military attack on Syria,” Iran’s Fars news agency quoted senior parliamentary official Hossein Sheikholeslam as saying on Monday.”[here]

Iran chief of staff, Maj. Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi in a meeting of defense officials in May 2012: “The Iranian nation is standing for its cause and that is the full annihilation of Israel.” [here]

And we could go on and on.

Amazing Resemblance to Hitler's Threats Against Jews:

The form of these threats is very similar to the form of the threat that Hitler made to wipe out the Jews. He said in 1939:

"If the international Jewish financiers in and outside Europe should succeed in plunging the nations once more into a world war, then the result will not be the bolshevization of the earth, and thus the victory of Jewry, but the annihilation of the Jewish race in Europe!" [here]

 Note that in this quote Hitler presents himself as pro-peace and as an enemy of international finance capital, as if he were a Marxist-Leninist [as in Lenin's Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism], while at the same time defining Bolshevism as an enemy. Whatever his many faults, Lenin did not write in the book cited that finance capital was Jewish. Moreover, you can see from the quote that Hitler was pretending to be a friend of peace and was blaming the Jews in advance for the world war that he planned to start.

 Furthermore, let's bear in mind that the very name of Hitler's party, for which Nazi was a convenient abbreviation, was a very "Leftist" name. It was officially called the National Socialist German Workers Party [Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP)]. His party was not only socialist but it was a "workers party." You can't ask for more than that.

Iranian officials use another rhetorical device to present themselves as "leftists." In this vein, an Iranian member of parliament identified the regime with "revolutionaries." On 8/27/2013 the semiofficial Fars news agency quoted Mansur Haqiqatpur, an influential member of Parliament, as saying on the preceding Tuesday: “In case of a U.S. military strike against Syria, the flames of outrage of the region’s revolutionaries will point toward the Zionist regime.”

 The resemblance of Iranian threat rhetoric against Israel to Hitler's threats against the Jews is so astoundingly similar as to imply that the Iranian ayatollahs and their minions copied directly from Hitler's rhetoric. Consider this from General Jafari of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards: "The Zionists should know that a U.S. military attack on Syria [if it happens] will not save the fake regime from the resistance but it means the immediate destruction of Israel." This sentence contains an implicit IF clause. That is, IF the US attacks Syria, that means the immediate destruction of Israel. Of all the Iranian statements that I have quoted above, this statement is the one most blatantly similar to Hitler's IF threat of 1939, also quoted above.

All the above makes outrageous the failure of the P5 + 1 powers to make the threats against Israel part of the negotiations with Iran, part of the condemnation of Iran for violating international law. These powers are demonstrating to the world that international law is a sad joke. And that they do not care for Jewish lives.

The international laws are enforced when major powers see fit, when it is in their current interest. Otherwise, the law is just words on paper.

Ford Foundation Founded with the Capital of a Man Who Inspired Hitler

Edsel Ford, Henry Ford's son, founded the Ford Foundation in 1936 with his family's money. Both Edsel and Henry bequeathed valuable, high-yielding [non-voting] stock to the foundation upon their deaths in 1943 and 1947 respectively. This made the foundation "the largest philanthropy in the world . . . a national and international philanthropy dedicated to the advancement of human welfare." Human welfare no less!! Therefore, let's look at Henry Ford's motives for concocting and publishing The International Jew:

When asked in 1921 why he had chosen to publish the series, Ford explained that he was "only trying to awake the Gentile world to an understanding of what is going on. The Jew is a huckster, a trader who doesn't want to produce but to make something out of what somebody else produces." He also blamed them for subversively instigating war behind the scenes for their own profit.  [Alex Grobman, License to Murder: The Enduring Threat of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Noble OK: Balfour  Books 2011), p53]

Ford himself was a producer of course. He produced automobiles, just by the way working his employees to death or near to it. Still, he was a producer. But he was also a huckster. After all, he wanted to sell the cars that his factories produced. And for that purpose, he hired advertising agencies to produce suitably persuasive sales messages and bought space in newspapers and other publications to reach the public. His The International Jew series published in his newspaper, the Dearborn Independent, was also meant to persuade, to persuade people to believe in an ugly, false message.

Ford's readers included "college professors, Christian clergy and the uneducated." His readers "sent him money, praised him for assailing the Jews, and clamored for more information." [Grobman, p 53]

One of Ford's readers was a very special person or shall we say that he was  a unique creature. This was none other than Adolf Hitler.

Adolph Hitler acknowledged that Henry Ford's The International Jew  influenced him in writing Mein Kampf, and had a picture of Ford hung on the wall in his Munich office. "I regard Henry Ford as my inspiration," Hitler told a reporter for the Detroit News. In 1938, Hitler sent his personal greetings to Ford on the occasion of his 75th birthday, and conferred upon him the Grand Cross of the German Eagle, the highest honor that could be bestowed on a foreign national. [Grobman, ibid.]

Hitler was not the only Nazi inspired by Ford's The International Jew. Another was

. . . Baldur von Schirach, Reich leader of the Nazi Students' Federation and future leader of the Hitler Youth. After reading Der international jude [German translation of The International Jew] in 1924 at the age of 17, a year prior to hearing Hitler speak for the first time, von Schirach remarked that "The younger generation looked with envy to the symbols of success and prosperity like Henry Ford. And if  Ford said that the Jews were to blame, why, naturally we believed him." [Grobman, p 54]

So Ford's prestige as a leading manufacturer and a very wealthy man helped to persuade people to believe in his ugly message. Von Schirach in turn persuaded young Germans to willingly join Hitler's army and take part in his wars and mass murders.

To be sure, Ford's The International Jew did not meet with universal approval.

"Despite the acclaim garnered by The International Jew . . . and its translation into a number of languages . . .  Prominent periodicals of the time, including Current Opinion, the Outlook, The Century, Harper's Weekly, and the Independent condemned the Protocols, The International Jew, and Ford himself." [Ibid, p 54]

The Nation [much different from the Nation of today] observed the significant increase of anti-Semitism engulfing the world in 1920 and concluded that "the chief responsibility for the survival of this hoary shame among us in America attaches to Henry Ford." Historian Norman Cohn believed that The International Jew  "probably did more than any other work to make the Protocols more famous." On the eve of World War II, the Protocols were more popular than they had been even in 1920 before being exposed as a forgery. [Grobman, ibid.]

Grobman's last sentence reminds us that today, as in the past, big lies like the Protocols are used to make deadly --indeed genocidal-- propaganda against the Jewish people. One of the recent big lies was the Muhammad al-Durah hoax. But that is a story for another time. Let us just bear in mind that the capital of the Ford Foundation was provided by a cruel employer and bigoted anti-Jewish propagandist, Henry Ford.

In the 21st century, nearly 100 years after Ford published his version of the Protocols, the Ford Foundation provides millions to the New Israel Fund which in turn funds many so-called  "non-governmental organizations" in Israel which engage in activities meant to undermine Israel in world public opinion and weaken Israel in the face of Israel's Arab and other enemies.

Seventy Years Since the Arab Mufti Haj Amin el-Husseini, Met Hitler

The Arab Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem met Hitler the other day 70 years ago, on 28 November 1941. The seventieth anniversary of a friendly, palsy meeting between the greatest mass murderer in history, Adolf Hitler [yes, Stalin gave him stiff competition] and a would-be mass murderer who took part in Hitler's genocidal crimes. We know what went on at the meeting since two written records were made, one by Hitler's secretary, one Schmidt, the other by the Mufti himself.

Here we quote from the German record:
The Fuhrer then made the following statement to the Mufti, enjoining him to lock it in the innermost depths of his heart:
1. He (the Fuhrer) would carry on the battle to the total destruction of the Judeo-Communist empire in Europe.
2. . . . the German armies would in the course of this struggle reach the southern exit from Caucasus.
3. . . . Germany's objective would then be solely the destruction of the Jewish element residing in the Arab sphere under the protection of British power. In that hour the Mufti would be the most authoritative spokesman for the Arab world. It would then be his task to set off the Arab operations which he had secretly prepared. . .
. . .
The Grand Mufti replied that it was his view that everything would come to pass just as the Fuhrer had indicated. He was fully reassured and satisfied by the words which he had heard from the Chief of the German State. . . .
The Grand Mufti thanked him. . . .

A short film of the Mufti, Haj Amin el-Husseini [also spelled al-Husayni] arriving at Hitler's offices for the meeting is at this link with narration in French. The film is obviously of great documentary importance. It was no doubt made by the Germans in Berlin and then sent to the Vichy government of France who put in a French narration and most likely supplied it to movie theaters as a newsreel. TV was not in common use. Note that Husseini gives the Nazi salute [upraised arm] when he meets Hitler. Also see this video .

Some background for Husseini should be known. He belonged to the Husseini clan, one of the most influential among the Arab-Muslims in Jerusalem. The Ottoman Empire gave members of the family high posts in government, first in the Jerusalem area, then in the government of the empire as a whole, one serving as a governor in Anatolia and elsewhere. Haj Amin el-Husseini served as an officer in the Ottoman army in World War I, but I don't know whether he was involved in the Armenian genocide perpetrated by that army. However, it was the British who gave him political predominance over the Arabs in the newly created Palestine, the territorial name for the Jewish National Home juridically erected at the San Remo Conference in April 1920 and endorsed by the League of Nations in 1922. In March 1921, the British made him mufti --chief Muslim judge-- of the Jerusalem area, and in December of that same year he was made president of the newly created Supreme Muslim Council which controlled the public money of the Muslim community in the newly created Palestine. This position gave him even more power than the first. Members of the Husseini family have been prominent in the PLO, such as Faisal Husseini, his great-nephew, and Leila Shahid, now the PLO spokeswoman and chief liar representing the PLO/Palestinian Authority in France, a grand-daughter of the Mufti.

M S Arnoni, Rights and Wrongs in the Arab-Israeli Conflict (1968). This book has a photo of Husseini with Himmler on which Himmler has written a dedication ["Seiner Eminenz dem Grossmufti -- zur Erinnerung"] plus a pix of Husseini & Nasser.
Zvi El-Peleg, HaMufti haGadol (Tel Aviv: MOD publishing House 1989). This has the cover page of the Nazi weekly, Wiener Illustrierte which shows the Mufti saluting Muslim units of the German army [probably the Bosnian Muslim SS division] plus a few other significant pix. El-Peleg's book came out in English too but I don't know if that edition has the pix.
Martin Gilbert, Exile and Return [Philadelphia: Lippincott 1978]. This book has a pix of the Mufti shaking hands with a Nazi official wearing a swastika armband, when he arrived in Berlin.
Jennie Lebel, Haj Amin uBerlin (Tel Aviv: 1996; in Heb.) This book in Hebrew has relevant pix, inc. documents in German. Much detail here about the Mufti's collaboration with the SS in Bosnia. Jennie Lebel is/was a collateral descendant of Theodore Herzl. She used much documentation in the Serbo-Croatian language which other researchers were not capable of using.

This is a very large subject that is often suppressed from school history books on World War II and the Holocaust, and from books and articles on Arab nationalism and the Middle East in WW2.

A video film now being circulated by Bosnian Mulims shows the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin el-Husseini [al-Husayni] shaking hands with Hitler. This a hagiographical film made to idolize and glorify Husseini. It gives a lot of attention to the Bosnian Muslim SS division, the Handschar [Khanjar], which Husseini helped the Germans to organize. Let's not forget that he also helped organize a Kossovo Muslim Albanian SS division called the Skanderbeg, named ironically after an Albanian leader --George Castriota, Skanderbeg-- who organized resistance by the Balkan peoples to the Ottoman Muslim conquest of that region of Europe.

For those who still don't want to acknowledge the collaboration with Nazi Germany of the palestinian Arab leadership, here is more graphic proof. The Handschar SS division was notorious for its atrocities against Serbs, Jews, Gypsies and other non-Muslims.

But those who don't want to believe will probably continuing denying the real history.

UPDATING 1-6-2011 Unfortunately, after getting this blog post ready, we discovered that the Bosnian Muslims who had put up the photo of their mentor, Haj Amin el-Husseini, and Hitler, had taken it down from youtube. Apparently they were informed that it was too embarassing for their own image and for their jihadi friends among the Arabs, like Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, etc., as well as for Fatah which pretends not to be sectarian or jihadist, although their manifestoes and everyday propaganda as well as their indoctrination of their own population reek of age-old Muslim, anti-Jewish bigotry, mixed with some European elements of Judeophobia. More new info has come out lately about US and other Allied govt relations with Haj Muhammad Amin el-Husseini [al-Husayni].
1-- a report prepared for the US Congress by American historians, Andrew Breitman and Norman J Goda, "Hitler's Shadow: Nazi War Criminals, US Intelligence, and the Cold War" [description of report here]. The report was apparently released in December 2010;
2-- a new book, Farhud, by Edwin Black [here]. Black's book deals also with the massacre of Jews in Baghdad in the Spring of 1941, perpetrated in sympathy with the Nazis and after incitement against the Iraqi Jews by Husseini. On the Farhud also see: here & here & here & here & here .
3-- the site Bibliotheque Proche-Orientale has many photos, films, pix of documents about the Mufti Husseini, often simply called The Mufti. The site is in French with much English-language material too [here/ici]. The photos and pix of documents do not require knowledge of French. One photo shows the meeting between Husseini and Hitler. One short film clip shows the Mufti arriving for the meeting.
UPDATING 1-10-2011 Former residence of the British-appointed Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin el-Husseini [al-Husayni], converted into a hotel, was demolished today in Jerusalem. The legal demolition was greeted by hypocritical snorts from Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, & the usual suspects at the European Union. The demolition was claimed to be "undermining peace" and such like drivel [here & here&here& here]. The last two articles linked to --from the Jerusalem Post & the Turkish Hurriyet-- remind us that the property belonged to Haj Amin el-Husseini. The Hurriyet article errs in labeling the place where weekly protests take place against Jewish residence, is "Sheikh Jarrah." The Sheikh Jarrah Quarter is indeed where the Mufti's former residence was located. However, the protests are over the nearby Jewish quarter of Shim`on haTsadiq.
